A 79.5 MW wind farm has been inaugurated at San Sostene (CZ), Italy

The wind farm, implemented in partnership with local stakeholders,
allows savings in carbon dioxide emissions of approximately 100,000 tons annually and satisfies the demand for energy of about 70,000 households

San Sostene – 11 June 2010. Falck Renewables, a public company incorporated under the English laws and belonging to Falck Group, specialised in the production of wind energy, inaugurated today the wind farm of San Sostene, with 43 turbines for a total installed capacity of  79.5 MW.

Falck Group Inaugurates Esquennoy Breteuil wind farm

Falck Renewables Plc (Falck Group) inaugurated the Esquennoy Breteuil wind farm on 19 March, 2010, which consists of 5 Nordex N90 LS wind turbines each rated at 2.40MW with a hub height of 100m. The project provides sufficient clean green energy to supply more than 10,000 homes and avoids the emission of around 20,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases each year which would otherwise have been produced by a power station burning fossil fuel, or 56 kg per year of nuclear waste which would otherwise have been produced by a nuclear plant.

Through its subsidiary Eolica Sud srl, Falck Renewables (Falck Group) has closed a euro 150.5 million project financing deal for its San Sostene wind farm including 43 turbines producing 80 MW of installed power.  

This is a particularly important deal for the Falck Group, since it is the second one closed in the last 14 months, after that concerning Minervino Murge (Barletta-Andria-Trani) wind farm (52 MW), stipulated at the end of 2008, which was worth euro 114.4 million.

Windfarm windfall looks set to benefit local community

Community groups in the vicinity of the Millennium windfarm will be able to apply for a boost to their funds next month as the developers behind the windfarm hand over their annual community benefit payment.

The wind farm, which is operated by Falck Renewables and has been operational since last summer, makes annual payments to both the Glengarry Trust and the Fort Augustus and Glenmoriston Community Company to fund specific needs and projects within the community.

A number of organisations in Dunvegan have received a welcome funding boost from the community benefit paid out by the Ben Aketil windfarm.

The windfarm, which is operated by Falck Renewables and has been operational since January 2008, makes annual payments to the Dunvegan Community Trust. Community groups are then invited to apply to the trust for funding for specific projects and needs.
