The Project Company signed an agreement with the Minervino Murge municipality on 27 December 2002 that provides the municipality with a royalty.

The wind farm, which will be built entirely on land owned by private landlords, is secured by registered contracts with the land owners. The economical terms of the agreements are for 9 years with the right to extend them for another 18 years.

Environmental benefits from wind farms are quite clear. It is estimated that the wind farm could displace up to 55,000 tones of carbon dioxide each year which would otherwise have been produced by a power station burning fossil fuel.

In this way wind energy is able to make an important contribution to reducing global warming and achieving environmental goals.

The Minervino Murge wind farm has been certified ISO 14001 by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance, and the EMAS certification was awarded on November 2009, making this wind farm one of the first in Italy to be awarded with both of these environmental quality certifications.
