Earlsburn North

Community

In line with the Earlsburn project Falck proposes to gift one of the Earlsburn North turbines as a “community turbine” and provide the revenues from that turbine to the community. This means that Falck will finance, construct, own and operate the “community turbine” for the benefit of the community. Falck will make annual payments to the community calculated by taking revenues generated from the “community turbines” less the proportionate share of operating costs and financing costs. In addition to this benefit, Falck proposes to provide a further £1,000 per MW for the installed capacity of the remaining Earlsburn North turbines to the local community.

Falck believes that it is important that the benefits of both the community turbine and installed capacity revenue be shared equally between all the local communities and will seek to establish a local community group to facilitate this.
