The project provides sufficient clean green energy to supply more than 15,800 homes, avoids 32,000 tonnes of CO2 greenhouse gases each year.
Current status : Under instruction since 06 January 2010
Location : Plonévez-du-Faou city (Finistére, 29), France
Number of turbines : 10
Expected capacity : 23 MW
The amount of clean energy produced annually is the equivalent to the energy consumed by: 15,800
Amount of CO2 saved : 32,000 tonnes - 86 Kg of nuclear waste saved p. a.
Planning authority : Plonévez-du-Faou City Hall
Project manager : Jean Philippe Blin
The wind farm is located between Carhaix and Chateaulin, 40 km North-East from Quimper in the Finistère (29) department in France. The project takes place on the commune of Plonévez-du-Faou. The wind project is sited in open farmland, at about 120 meters above sea level, and next to the National Road 164, which is located south from the site. The two building permits have been deposed the 06 January 2010 in Plonévez-du-Faou city hall.
The 23MW wind farm consists of 10 Enercon E82 wind turbines each rated at 2.3MW with a hub height of 78.33m. The project provides sufficient clean green energy to supply more than 15,800 homes and avoids the emission of around 32,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases each year which would otherwise have been produced by a power station burning fossil fuel, and 86kg of nuclear waste who would otherwise have been produced by a nuclear plant. The electric connection to the distribution network operated by Electricité Réseau Distribution France will be buried.
The wind farm is owned and operated by Parc Eolien de Plonévez-du-Faou SARL which is owned 100% by Falck Renewables Plc.
